GAMES:
Games start on Opening Day - May 4, 2024.  All games are played during the week.  Weekends are reserved for rain outs.  As such, if your game is rained out during the week, you will make that game up the following weekend.  All games will be at Kulwicki Park (older boys/girls may travel).

VOLUNTEERING:  All volunteering will be handling by a volunteer website/app (to be determined).  Volunteer checks will be handed in at uniform/raffle ticket pick up at a date to be determined closer to the season.   Everyone must hand in volunteer checks (even coaches).  Volunteer checks will be returned after duties are fulfilled.

Sign up for volunteering during registration if you intend to be a Head Coach or Assistant Coach as a background check must be performed and it is essential for GNBLL for forming teams who is interested in coaching prior to the start of the season.

Please note all individuals in contact with children MUST COMPLETE A BACKGROUND CHECK.  This will include any "Team Helpers" once the teams are established.  These background checks will be done closer to the season.

Sign-Up Genius will be active closer to season.  After registration watch emails for updates.

REFUND POLICY:

If a player decides to withdraw, a refund of the registration fee is available only up until the time of a player's first game. If uniforms have already been ordered, the amount refunded will be the registration amount less the cost of the uniform given GNBLL is unable to cancel the order or recoup the cost once uniform orders are submitted. If you withdraw after the start of the first game, the registration fee will not be refunded. If you have requested a refund, please note that it may take up to 10 business days to process the refund.

ALL REFUNDS SUBJECT TO $25 PROCESSING FEE

New Minor division

New Minor division rules

Minor Division rules

Minor - Player & coach pitch. An instructional division with a focus on fundamentals and progressing players into a 'real baseball' atmosphere.

All Tuesday games will be scrimmages and all Thursday games will be actual games. Scrimmages will gives the coaches a chance to stop game play if needed to coach up their players on anything related to what is going on in the game.

Game length is 1 hour and 30 mins with a hard stop.

Games will be played with normal baseballs all players will need a cup.

Players will pitch the ball from the pitching rubber. A player pitcher cannot walk a batter. However they can strikeout a batter.
Should the player pitcher pitch 4 called balls before the batter strikes out and before there is a play in the field the coach will step into pitch.

The coach pitching will continue the current count as it relates to strikes. Coaches will continue to pitch until the player either has 3 strikes against them and is called out or puts the ball in play. There will be no walks given. Again this is an Developmental division  and we want players to see good pitches and swing the bat.

Stealing is allowed in the Minor Division. Runners can only advance once the ball has entered the strike zone.

*There is no stealing of home plate even on passed balls.

Once three (3) outs have occurred the 1/2 inning is over.
Once five (5) runs have scored the 1/2 inning is over even if three (3) outs have not occurred.

The batting order is continuous.

Repeat violations may result in suspensions from multiple games, the season, or life. Additionally, Parents/Guardians are responsible for the behavior of their “guests” attending the game. The essential elements of character building and ethics in sports are embodied in the concept of sportsmanship. The highest potential of any athlete is achieved when competition reflects the “six pillars of character.”

1. Trust
2. Respect
3. Responsibility
4. Fairness
5. Caring
6. Citizenship

I therefore agree:

1. I will not force my child to participate in sports.
2. I and my guests will remember that children participate for fun and the game is for youth, not adults.
3. I will inform the coach of any physical disability or ailment that may affect the safety of my child or the safety of others.
4. I will do my best to learn the rules of the game and the policies of the league and will refrain from speculation.
5. I and my guests will be positive role models for my child and encourage sportsmanship by showing respect and courtesy, and by demonstrating positive support for all players, coaches, officials and spectators at every game, practice or other sporting event.
6. I and my guests will not engage in any unsportsmanlike conduct such as booing, taunting, insulting; refusing to shake hands; or using profane language or gestures with any official, coach, player,or parent.
7. I and my guests will not encourage any behaviors or practices that would endanger the health and physical or psychological well being of the athletes.
8. I will teach my child to play by the rules and to resolve conflicts without resorting to hostility or violence.
9. I will ensure that my child treat other players, coaches, officials and spectators with unconditional respect.
10. I will teach my child that doing one’s best is more important than winning so that my child will never feel defeated by the outcome of a game or his/her performance.
11. I will praise my child for competing fairly and trying hard, and make my child feel like a winner every time.
12. I will never ridicule or yell at my child or other participants for making a mistake or losing a competition.
13. I will emphasize skill development and practices and how they benefit my child over winning.
14. I will promote the emotional and physical well being of the athletes ahead of any personal desire I may have for my child to win.
15. I will respect the officials and their authority during games and will not question, discuss, or confront coaches at the game field, and will take time to speak with coaches at an agreed upon time and place.
16. I will demand a sports environment for my child that is free from drugs, tobacco, and alcohol and I will refrain from their use at all events.
17. I will refrain from interfering with the coaching of my child and other players during games or practices; allowing the coaching staff to do their job.
